Friday, May 27 will remain a day off of school for the Howards Grove students. At the April 18th School Board meeting the Board of Education voted to keep Friday May 27th as a day off of school for students and not make-up the snow day.
Howards Grove Junior Racks up College Credits and practical work internship experiences at Howards Grove High School. Students are able to earn up to 30+ college credits at Howards Grove High School with articulations and agreements with Lakeland College and Lakeshore Technical College. In addition, students have the opportunity to get real-world job experience through both the Youth Apprenticeship programming and our Career Internships.
Howards Grove High School educates approximately 270 students in grades 9-12. We are located in Sheboygan County in the Village of Howards Grove just minutes from Lake Michigan. Our students can participate in a wide variety of academic, athletic and co-curricular opportunities at HGHS. We offer college level credit opportunities for our students through Advanced Placement (AP) courses and several CAPP credit courses articulated with Lakeland College. In addition we offer career opportunities through our work experience programs at HGHS that include the Youth Apprenticeship Program with Lakeshore Technology College, and our Career Internship Program. Tickets will be sold during lunches. Please have separate checks/cash for each event. Make Post Prom checks payable to JB's Entertainment.
You do not need to attend Prom to enjoy this event.
Price is all inclusive. It includes unlimited bowling, pool, darts, air hockey, racing games, music, pizza and soda. No outside food or drink will be permitted in or outside the building. This is not a lock in event, but once you leave you cannot come back in. Must be present to win a prize!

Dress Code Reminder
As the weather continues to get warmer, students are expected to follow the school dress code.Our dress code includes:dresses, skirts, and shorts should be mid-thigh (finger-tip) length; pants should cover all undergarments;tops may not reveal cleavage, midriffs, or undergarments; tube tops, halter tops, and strapless tops are not permitted; shirts with pictures or writing that are inappropriate in nature are not acceptable; headwear is not permitted in the building at any time. The complete dress code guidelines can be found on the District website or in the Student Planner.
A Job Opening at our in-school Kohler Credit Union - Students interested in applying for this position should do so by visiting the KCU website at http://www.kohlercu.com, selecting "About Us" , "Careers" and then the Blue link in the middle of the page "Click to Search for Open Positions". The in-school branch location may then be selected. In addition to working during lunch, employees are also expected to work at other KCU locations.
Fines and Fees
The fines and fees list has been posted on the Office window. Please check to see if your name is on it. Library fines and fees are also posted. All obligations must be paid before you can purchase or receive Prom tickets.
Sheboygan South High School is hosting a county-wide job fair. The employers that are attending want students from all parts of the county to participate. The job fair will be held on Tuesday, May 10th from 3:30-5:30pm in the Sheboygan South High School Commons.

Tickets for Prom will be sold during lunches in the commons April 27 thru May 5. The price is $20 per person. Please make checks for Prom payable to HGHS. Students with outstanding fines or fees will not be allowed to purchase or receive Prom tickets until all obilgations have been met.
Students who wish to bring a guest are required to fill out a Guest Pass. They are available in the High School Office and are due by the end of the day on Thursday, May 5.

LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL PLAYERS/ADULT UMPIRES WANTED
The Cleveland Athletic Club is currently seeking boys and girls ages 5-14 interested in playing instructional, Peanut, Pee Wee or Pony League Baseball in the Manitowoc County Youth Sports League. Practices are held 1-2 days per week until games begin in late May then one practice and one game is held each week through the month of July. Approximately 8 regular season games are played, with home games played at Veterans Park in Cleveland and away games played within 30 minutes of Cleveland. There is NO Player Fee to play, but players are asked to participate in a little league fundraiser. For additional information, please contact Ron Schisel @ 889-1807.
We are also looking for adult or high school age umpires for little league baseball games (Grade School, age 6 – Middle School, age 14) and girls fast-pitch softball games (Grade School, age 6 – Middle School, age 11). Umpires will be compensated on a per game basis. Please contact Ron above if interested.
Summer School information and registration forms will be available online this year at the district website (www.hgsd.k12.wi.us ). Please go to the “Parents” page, click on the “Summer School” link. If you do not have access to a computer, please let the Northview office know and we will send home printed information with your child.
* April 9 – All summer school course descriptions and schedules available online. You may begin browsing and planning your child(ren)’s possible summer school class schedules and related costs.
* April 16 – Summer school registration forms available online. Registration forms do need to be printed out and a completed paper copy returned to the Northview office along with the appropriate fees.
* May 4 – Registration closes; any registrations received after this date will be charged a $5.00 late fee.
* June 20 – July 15 Summer School classes in session
July 4 NO Summer School classes
