Howards Grove High School

Howards Grove High School educates approximately 285 students in grades 9-12. We are located in Sheboygan County in the Village of Howards Grove just minutes from Lake Michigan. Our students can participate in a wide variety of academic, athletic and co-curricular opportunities at HGHS. We offer college level credit opportunities for our students through Advanced Placement (AP) courses and several CAPP credit courses articulated with Lakeland College. In addition we offer career opportunities through our work experience programs at HGHS that include the Youth Apprenticeship Program with Lakeshore Technology College, and our Career Internship Program. Library Announcement

All library obligations must be taken care of by end of the day on Friday, May 24, 2013 to be able to receive your 2013 Yearbook on Tuesday, May 28, 2013. This includes all library materials and any outstanding fines and fees. Please check the updated list posted on the library window.  If you need these library materials longer for SSR time or for a research project, please stop in the Library to discuss your options with Mrs. Henschel or Mrs. Thieleke. 

 

Howards Grove Athletic Physicals

2013-14 Athletic Physicals will be held Monday, June 3 and Monday, July 29 from 5pm-6:30pm.  They will be held at the Howards Grove Aurora Clinic, 620 S Wisconsin Drive.  Call 565-4595 to schedule an appointment.  Make appointments ASAP, no walk-ins will be accepted.  Cost of physical is $20.  Make checks out to Howards Grove School District/Athletics.  See the Guidance Office for more information and for the physical forms.  Have physical forms filled out prior to appointment.  Wear shorts and t-shirt.  This is for Howards Grove WIAA participating athletes only.

 

Summer Job Opportunity

The Cleveland Athletic Club is currently seeking adult or high school age umpires for little league baseball games (ages 7-12) and girls modified fast-pitch softball games (ages 7-11).  Umpires will be compensated on a per game basis.  All games are played at Veterans Memorial Park in Cleveland.  For additional information, please contact Ron Schisel @ 889-1807.

 

Yearbook distribution

Attention all students! Yearbook distribution is from 3:00pm-5:00pm on Tuesday, May 28 in the high school commons.
 
You must have all fines and fees paid by second block on May 28th in order to pick up your book.
 
If you need to have someone pick up your yearbook for you, you must provide that person with a hand written note clearly stating that you have given them permission to pick up the book for you.  You must sign the note. This step is needed to avoid theft of books.
 
There are a limited number of extra books for sale in the high school office.  The price is $50.00 per book. First come, first served.
 

Volunteer Opportunity

Looking for service project hours?  RCS and Restoration Farms have schedule a volunteer Garden Event.  Saturday, June 1st 9am-Noon.  Volunteers are needed to prep and plant.  You do not need to work the entire time, any help is appreciated!  Please bring your own gloves, and if you have them some tools.  Feel free to invite your friends and family.
 

Seniors - help needed

Attention Seniors:   If you can help decorate the gym for graduation, please sign up on the sheet located on Mrs. HIll's door.  Decorating times are on Saturday June 8 from 9:00--12:00 and on Sunday June 9 from 8:00--9:30.  Thanks!
 

Senior t-shirts for sale

If you are interested in purchasing a Senior t-shirt, please stop in the Office to pick up an order form.  The cost is $11.55 each and payment is due in the office by the end of the day on Wednesday, May 22.  Make checks out to HGHS and if paying with cash please bring exact amount.  Shirts will not be ordered without payment.

 

Seniors

ALL SENIORS!   Please stop in the Guidance Office to let us know what college or tech school you will be attending in the fall.  Information to request your final transcripts is also available. This needs to be done before the end of the school year!  Thank you for your cooperation. 
 

Dance Team tryouts

Dance Team tryouts for next year will be held Tuesday, May 28 and Wednesday, May 29 from 6pm - 8pm in the High School gym.  Anyone interested in being a part of the Fall and/or Winter season teams next year, must attend.  Please see Mrs Worth if you have any questions.  Hope to see you there!

A few of you still have your graduation announcement orders to pay for / pick up.  Please take care of this with Mrs. Hill ASAP.  Thank you!

 

Seniors

All Seniors MUST send their "final" transcripts via Docufide/Parchment to the College or Technical School they will be attending in the fall.  Please submit your request in May or very early June.  If you request them prior to June 6th, you will need to click on "next grading period". If you have any questions or need instructions on how to do this, please stop in the Guidance Office. 
 

Dress Code Reminder

As the weather continues to get warmer, students are expected to follow the school dress code.   Our dress code includes:  dresses, skirts, and shorts should be mid-thigh (finger-tip) length; pants should cover all undergarments;  tops may not reveal cleavage, midriffs, or undergarments; tube tops, halter tops, and strapless tops are not permitted; shirts with pictures or writing that are inappropriate in nature are not acceptable; headwear is not permitted in the building at any time.  The complete dress code guidelines can be found on the District website.

 

Attention: Seniors

If you would like to order a Graduation DVD (DVD of the graduation ceremony) please fill out the order form located with your cap and gown, and turn it into the high school office along with your payment.  If you have any questions, see Mrs. Hill.  Thanks!
