Dear HGSD Parents, Staff and Community,                                                  December 4th, 2020


Welcome to December and a successful reopening this week.  It certainly was wonderful to have our students and staff back in session this week.  Our absenteeism has dramatically improved following the all virtual session we just concluded.  Those numbers continue to improve this week.  When we went virtual on Friday November 13th we had over 120 students out and over 20 staff out.  As of today, we have only 30 students and 4 staff out district wide.  Thank you for all of your efforts to stay healthy and keep us open. 


As you may have read, the CDC recently released additional options that State and local Public Health Departments can implement regarding quarantine protocols of close contact asymptomatic individuals.  The Sheboygan County Public Health has released an update regarding quarantine timelines that will take effect on Monday, December 7th.  We will be updating our district quarantine guidelines on Monday to comply.


If you are interested in being a substitute teacher there is an easy way to get certified through CESA 7. You only need to have an associate degree to qualify.   I have included a link below to CESA 7 if you are interested.


Over the next few weeks students at the High School will be receiving their course registration packets for the 2021-22 school year.   Students will receive their course registration packets the weeks of Dec 7th and 14th during their in person cohort day in individual grade level meetings.   Please talk to your students and review these registration packets and their 21-22 course requests with them before they schedule for classes in early January.


We hope you can participate in Northview's Holiday Food Drive.  Instead of bringing items into school you will be able to donate without having to leave your car by participating in one of our drive thru dates and times listed below.  Please pull into the front parking lot at Northview and someone will be there to greet you and collect the donated items.  Please be sure to wear a mask. 


Help the fight against hunger this holiday season!  Current most needed items:  Peanut butter, canned soup, canned tuna/chicken, cereal/oatmeal, canned fruit, pasta sauce, rice and personal care items.

On Monday, December 7th, there will be a working session of the school board at 5:30 pm in the High School Library.
